The full line-up has been revealed for an exciting music festival making its way to Paisley next month.
The Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMAs) Paisley Takeover will bring a two-day showcase and celebration of grassroots music to the town on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 March.
A host of top acts had previously been announced – including sets from Siobhan Wilson, SWAY, Saturday headliners Pronto Mama and a workshop from Paisley’s own The Vegan Leather.
They will be joined by a stellar Friday night line-up, featuring solo musician and poet Heir of the Cursed and headliners Out Lines.
Heir of the Cursed combines a mesmerising blend of calming instrumentals and vocal stylings with her lyrical retellings of the subtleties of life in Glasgow.
Fresh off the back of a sold out Celtic Connections set and UK tour with Mogwai, headliners Out Lines are a fusion of three powerhouses in Scottish music. The band features Scottish Album Of The Year award winning singer-songwriter Kathryn Joseph, The Twilight Sad’s James Graham and producer Marcus Mackay.
Having released their debut album ‘Conflats’ towards the end of 2017 amid much acclaim, the dynamic trio will bring their striking live set to Paisley.
Other fantastic events announced across the weekend include an intimate live in-store session at record shop Feel The Groove with Emme Woods, ahead of her SXSW debut.
The intimate setting will make for an unmissable set on the Friday evening, along with spoken word performances from local wordsmith’s Robert Blair and Shaun Moore.
Saturday’s afternoon of seminars will begin with ‘How to do DIY in 2018?’ featuring Ian Crawford of El Rancho Records plus J-Bone promoter Alana Hepburn and Conor Goldie of Public Records.
The next seminar ‘When is the best time to showcase your band on a national level?’ will feature artist manager and promoter Nicky Carder, Nadine Walker of Tenement TV and Broadcaster Jim Gellatly.
The event will culminate with a special ‘In Conversation’ segment hosted by Vic Galloway and will feature former Simple Minds manager and ex Record Store owner Bruce Findlay, who will discuss his inspiring career in the music business.
Festival manager Richy Muirhead said: “The SAMAs Takeover in March is going to be a great couple of days filled with an exciting events programme.
“We’re delighted to share the full line-up with new additions Out Lines, Heir Of The Curse, Emme Woods and loads more!”
