Houston Square in Johnstone will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland on Saturday 1 December as the town switches on its beautiful lights officially marking the start of the festive season.
Tick another few things off your shopping list at St Vincent’s Hospice’s market, packed with local stallholders selling unique crafts that will make ideal Christmas gifts for friends and family.
For music, head to the bandstand where Pulse FM will be holding court accompanied by a host of local performers including The Logans, Todi and the RockUs Community Choir.
He might be the busiest man in Christmas but Santa will also be in his Grotto on the square, ready to take wish lists from children doing their best to stay on the nice list! His reindeer helpers will also be just outside, so don’t forget to say hello to Rudolph and co too!
There will also be plenty of hands on workshops for kids, including Christmas crafts and festive face painting run by activity specialists Big Top. These free activities will run 12 noon – 5pm and admission is on a first come, first serve basis. Oh and don’t forget a turn on the funfair rides too.
Then, the main event will see Santa and some special guests take to the bandstand to start the Christmas countdown and officially switch on Johnstone’s stunning lights all around the square. Don’t miss this magical, free family event.
