Renfrew Christmas Lights Switch-On

Saturday 24 November, 2018

See Renfrew shine brighter than ever before as the new Christmas lights are switched on Saturday 24 November accompanied by a beautiful fireworks display over the fairy-tale turrets of Renfrew Town Hall.

There’s a sleigh-load of free family fun planned too, starting at noon with two performances of Jack and the Beanstalk from Clydebuilt Puppet Theatre at 12pm and 1pm, festive face painting and Christmas crafts for kids inside Renfrew Town Hall. Running until 4pm, all of these activities are free with places allocated on a first come, first serve basis.

Kids will be able to tell Santa what’s on their Christmas list too with a visit to his Grotto which this year will be twinkling away inside the Christian Fellowship Church on the High St. Pop in to see Santa 12pm – 4.30pm and while you’re there say hello to Rudolph and his friends at the reindeer pen outside.

A funfair will also add to the festive cheer from 12 noon to 5pm, situated in Charles Avenue car park.

Music will be provided by some of the town’s best local artists including Renfrew Burgh Band, who’ll play inside the Town Hall at 3pm, plus RockUs Community Choir and Pulse FM will take care of the Christmas tunes on the main stage outside from 3pm.

Festivities will conclude at 5pm when crowds will gather around the stage for the big switch on and an unmissable five minute fireworks display to mark the start of the town’s official countdown to Christmas.
