The Big Art Show is Paisley’s largest-ever open art exhibition
The Big Art Show 2023 will run from 31 August – 18 November in The Art Department, 2-10 Causeyside Street, Paisley PA1 1UQ.
The show is a truly open, inclusive, and joyous initiative. It supports visual artists and communities to participate in and enjoy the experience of coming together in fruitful purpose.
This major exhibition project is produced by Outspoken Arts Scotland. Alongside a volunteer team of professional visual artists, Art Paisley Ltd, they work across the West of Scotland. It is a not-for-profit making charitable activity for the advancement of art, education and public benefit.
The exhibition takes place in the landmark buildings of the former Paisley Co-operative & Manufacturing Society (1862).
The Big Art Show, launched in 2022 and featured nearly 1,000 artworks. The displayed pieces were from all over the UK, as well as from Europe and Asia. Work accepted included painting, drawing, photography and textiles. Plus sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, installation art, digital, film, video and sound.
Additionally, as with last year, prizes will be awarded across a range of categories. You will have plenty of time to visit as the show in 2023 runs for 80 days.
Most of the work on display will be up for sale. So keep your eyes out if you fancy picking up something creative for your home or office. A full-colour souvenir catalogue will be produced. And you can pick up a catalogue on your visit to the exhibition. The catalouge will feature over 250 high-resoultion artwork images.
