Heritage Walks: Paisley Worthies
Join the Urban Historian for another tour of discovery about Paisley’s past. The tour explores Abbey Close, Paisley Abbey and the Laigh Kirk’s Graveyards, looking at the burial sites of Paisley’s Worthies. The graveyards are the last resting places of everyday people, thread makers, silk makers, merchants and those who played a part in shaping Paisley’s story. The tour will meet at the West front of Paisley Abbey and will aim to finish by 3pm at the Laigh Kirk.

Bridge of Weir Gala Day
Get ready for a Rumble in the Jungle this weekend. That’s the theme for this year’s Bridge of Weir Gala Day, which marks the beginning of Festival Week in the village. The Gala Day parade sets off from Cargill Hall before heading towards Houston Road Park and is led by the Gala Queen. The park will play host to a fantastic range of stalls, entertainment, food outlets a tea tent and much more.

PLAY Expo – intu Braehead
This top gaming expo promises to be an unmissable event for both experienced gamers and novices alike. Packed full with features, exhibitors and more, the event will see thousand attend and enjoy the largest selection of gaming under one roof in Scotland. From retro arcade favourites like Mario and Street Fighter to virtual reality specials and the latest selection of cutting edge games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Great Global Greyhound Walk
Bring your pet pooch along to Castle Semple Visitor Centre on Sunday for the Great Global Greyhound Walk. This annual dog-walking event brings together greyhounds, lurchers, other sighthounds and their owners to raise awareness of the breeds. The walk starts at the centre and is open to all sighthounds and any dog that lives with a sighthound. If you fancy taking part in the free event, make sure you register on the Great Global Greyhound Walk website.
