There’s a magical weekend of fun activities taking place at some of Paisley’s most iconic venues and locations across Renfrewshire.
From a Summer Family Fun Day right in the heart of Paisley to fairy trails and even a special visit from one of television’s most famous naturalists and presenters, there’s so many great things to enjoy in the area this weekend.
We take a closer look at some of these activities below:
Summer Family Fun Day
A full day of free activities and entertainment is set to take over the town on Saturday at Paisley Arts Centre, Paisley Museum, and Paisley Central Library. From drama and theatre, games and crafts to LEGO workshops and Bookbug sessions, there’s so much for kids and adults to enjoy across all three venues.

Jurassic Bricks in Paisley Town Centre
We’re now two weeks into the Jurassic experience in Paisley town centre – have you had a chance to go Dinosaur hunting yet? Grab a map and take on the Jurassic Bricks LEGO Dinosaur Trail with Paisley First. There’s 15 large dinosaurs made out of LEGO bricks to uncover on the trail and you can win prizes by finding all of their names. There’s also two interactive play zones, a selfie zone and a find the Hidden Dinosaur Competition. Happy hunting!

Fairy and Elf Trail
Explore the magical forest at Finlaystone Country Estate and search for hidden fairy doors on the fantastic Fairy and Elf Trail. Look out for the Fairy Village before making your own fairy or elf door to take home and keep in your garden. Plus, there’s no need to pre-book as you can sort your time slot on the day upon arrival at the visitor centre.
When: Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July – 1pm to 3pm
Where: Finlaystone Country Estate
Price: £4.50 for materials to take home or £2.50 to give a door to the fairies and elves + normal admission charge of £3.50 for child/concession and £5 for adults.
Chris Packham’s Bioblitz!
Naturalist and Springwatch television presenter Chris Packham visits RSPB Lochwinnoch for a fun-filled day of wildlife activities as part of his UK Bioblitz campaign. The bioblitz involves finding and identifying as many species of wildlife as possible in a specified area over a short period of time. RSPB Lochwinnoch is one of 50 UK sites that Chris and his team of experts will explore this July to highlight the extent to which our wildlife is under threat. Staff and volunteers at the reserve will be on hand to help you identify all the birds, mammals, insects, amphibians, reptiles and plants that you find along with a range of activities to try. Who knows what you might find?

Price: Normal trail fees apply £3.00 adult/£1.50 per child
