6 of the best at Lochwinnoch Arts Festival

Now, of course, the whole bill is a cracker…but here are six shows you definitely want to check out at this year’s Lochwinnoch Arts Festival!

1. Iconic Women

Friday 8 March, 7.30pm, McKillop Institute, £10/£8

Christine Bovill, Witches and Outi Smith, you say? All on the same bill? Yes please! The festival gets off to a flyer with this fantastic triple bill in celebration of iconic women.

2. Jericho Hill

Saturday 9 March, 7.30pm, McKillop Institute, £8/£6

This Glasgow-based five-piece have a reputation as the tribute band for people who don’t like tribute bands! They cover all things Johnny Cash – from his early days with the Tennessee Two to the American Recordings of his later days – in a fitting tribute to the ‘Man in Black’.

3. A Buddy Good Laugh

Friday 15 March, 7.30pm, McKillop Institute, £10/£8

Normally, you’d catch this award-winning comedy show in Paisley Arts Centre, but it’s making a special appearance at the festival and with Gary Faulds, Jamie Dalgleish and MC Graham Mackie appearing, it’s sure to have you in stitches!

4. Jeff Zycinski

Saturday 16 March, 10.30am, McKillop Institute, £6/£4

A former Head of Radio, Jeff’s light-hearted and affectionate memoir of his time at BBC Scotland is a must-read – pop along and you can hear from the author himself.

5. Come & Try Jazz Choir

Sunday 17 March, 12pm, McKillop Institute, £5

Time for you to join in! Come along in your finest voice and try singing some jazz…

6. Classical Evening

Sunday 17 March, 7.30pm, Lochwinnoch Parish Church, £8/£6
