Tell us about yourself and what you will be doing in the town

I’m Jamie Scott, 31, Chef Patron of The Newport Restaurant -Newport on Tay, Fife. Masterchef Professional Winner 2014. I am hosting and demonstrating on the food stage alongside the Three Sisters Bake.

What attracted you to be part of this event?

I used to live in Johnstone in previous years. I really like Glasgow and the developing food scene. I love demoing and showcasing my food and passion.

Why do you think people should come along to the event?

It gives a great insight into local producers, suppliers, restaurant and cafés across the West Coast.  It’s a great way for people to get involved with food particularly those that take an interest in cooking.

What’s your favourite thing to cook at home?

I enjoy cooking anything Thai style or with that kind of flavour. Pad Thai,  Sticky pork, fish cakes, salt and pepper chicken are among a few of my favourites.

What do you love most about food and cooking?

I love how creative you can be with food and experimenting with new flavours. I also enjoy using modern techniques and traditional methods to perfect dishes. Food ultimately brings happiness and I enjoy the feedback from customers, family and friends.

What inspired your love of cooking?

My Mum and Gran inspired my love of cooking. My gran was an excellent baker and my Mum is a great chef. I was enthralled as a child watching the food and baked goods which were produced quickly and with ease from our home kitchens. My mum then took me in the kitchen and taught me from a young age and encouraged me to take it up as a career.

Come along to the event and try some dumplings from a tuk-tuk, hanger steaks off a bespoke BBQ or shellfish with gourmet fries. It's going to be a feast for the senses.
