History buffs can visit the Blantyre Monument which stands in memory of Robert Walter Stewart, 11th Lord Blantyre, who lived at nearby Erskine House. A Major-General in the British Army, he served with the Duke of Wellington in the Napoleonic Wars.

Local attractions and places of interest include Ingliston Country Club, Mar Hall Golf and Spa Resort, Erskine Golf Club and the Blantyre Monument.

The nearby picturesque village of Langbank on the southern banks of the River Clyde enjoys panoramic views ‘doon the watter’.

Popular local attractions include the Gleddoch Hotel, Golf and Spa resort and the Finlaystone Country Estate.

With imaginative play areas, woodland walks, picnic areas, colourful gardens, tumbling waterfalls, events, activities and remarkable history, Finlaystone offers family fun in abundance.

The Finlaystone Estate covers approximately 140 acres of woodlands with walking trails varying in length and difficulty, BBQ and picnic areas, incredible wildlife and nature including trees well over 400 years old.

Situated amidst 360 acres of breathtaking countryside, Gleddoch effortlessly combines luxury, character and world-class facilities to produce a memorable escape.

The 6,350 yard, 18-hole championship golf course presents challenges to golfers of all abilities; therefore don’t be put off if you’re a novice or top player – a great game is guaranteed at one of the best courses on Scotland.

There is also a 4-hole Academy course and a 300-yard practice course if you just want to have a little fun, improve your technique and enjoy the stunning views.
