Clyde Muirshiel Country Park, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, offers excellent cycling and walking trails to suit all abilities. Whether you want a quick 20-minute stroll or two-hour trek to discover everything Scotland’s largest regional park has to offer there’s a route for you. Why not make a day of it by using one of the park’s BBQ sites?

July and August are great months to visit, according to the park’s wildlife almanac you should be able to spot fledgling kestrels, whirligig beetles, black darter dragonflies and big hairy caterpillars!

Why not challenge yourself to climb a volcano? Windy Hill is a family friendly 316m high walk. It’s not too big a climb for views of Glasgow and Loch Lomond on a clear day.

The Lochwinnoch Loop cycle route was also listed among the top 6 family-friendly cycle routes in Scotland by VisitScotland so why not get on your bikes and give it a try this summer.

There are some great activities for all the family to enjoy at Castle Semple such as feeding the ducks and swans, looking out for the carved wildlife benches on the Lochshore Path or exploring the rhododendron maze in Parkhill Wood.
