Head to Paisley for two fantastic fun trails this Easter

Wednesday 13th March, 2019

Don’t miss the chance to take part in two fantastic fun trails in Paisley this Easter.

Paisley First have launched the two family-friendly trails in the town centre – and the first is a Cuckoo in the Nest Trail, which sees “out of place” items hidden in businesses.

You might find a silver locket on display in the butcher’s shop or a shampoo and conditioner set appearing in a café, for example.

Families can collect trail leaflets in both shopping centres and local businesses before completing the list of misplaced items by visiting each business.

All children who complete the trail leaflet can collect a free chocolate egg at either the Piazza Shopping Centre or the Paisley Centre before posting the form into the designated post-box for a grand draw at the end of the trail.

Paisley First’s second Easter trail will see children and families set out to spot seven animal sculptures located throughout the town.

The animals were created by local artist Kevin Cantwell and are all made from recycled materials, carefully produced into stunning works of art.

You’ll be able to spot everything from a Paisley Panda to a unicorn – Scotland’s national animal!

Artist, Kevin Cantwell said: “I have created this art installation to highlight the great advantage of recycling and reclaiming materials.

“For this trail, we have found new uses for a range of materials including wooden pallets, tyres and old car parts, all transformed into large animal sculptures, and which all have a local connection to Renfrewshire or Easter.”

Paisley First will also be running a Golden Ticket Competition this Easter with three chances to win £250 of Paisley town Centre Gift vouchers.

Sixteen Golden Ticket winners shared a prize pot of £5,000 worth of Paisley town centre vouchers in 2018.

The Easter trails and the Golden Ticket competition will run in Paisley town centre from Friday 29th March until Monday 22nd April.

I would advise any other creative businesses to think about setting up in Paisley because the potential is massive – there is such a great community of creative people.
