Culture, Heritage and Events Fund

Monday 29th January, 2018

Looking to stage an event or organise a new project?

There’s a fund available that could help you get started…

Renfrewshire Council’s Culture, Heritage and Events Fund was launched to co-incide with Paisley’s bid for the UK City of Culture 2021 title – and the fund has stayed in place as one of the key legacies of the bid.

The fund is looking for projects that:

  • bring international attention to Paisley
  • attract tourism, generate footfall for town centres and change perceptions of the area, and
  • harness the power of culture to make people’s lives better throughout Renfrewshire.

Projects that engage and involve the local community, showcasing the area’s assets and the talent of its people, are also favoured.

Several rounds of funding are allocated each year and the remaining deadlines for 2018 are:

  • Monday 10 December

You can find out more about the fund now on the Renfrewshire Council website.

Paisley has a good reputation with the bands – they want to play to a crowd that appreciates them and they get that here.

Paisley has seen many people come and show talent and express themselves in ways that have become renowned worldwide. It’s something the younger generation like me take a pride in – sharing streets with someone in the latest blockbuster or wearing a pattern which bears the same name as our town.
