What’s on guide – 19 October

The weekend is upon us once again – including the last two days of The Spree Festival 2018.

There’s still plenty of kids activities and music events for everyone to enjoy at festival – but there are also lots of other great activities taking place around Renfrewshire.

The Spree Festival – October 19 & 20

There’s a spectacular closing weekend in store for everyone at The Spree Festival 2018. Gang of Four bring their raucous set to the Spiegeltent on Friday night before ModStuff takes over the Spiegeltent on Saturday – along with the famous scooter ride-out. Scottish music favourites Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert play Paisley Arts Centre and this year’s Spree will close with the legendary Martha Reeves and the Vandellas with the London African Gospel Choir performing Paul Simon’s Graceland. There’s plenty of kids shows as part of the Wee Spree, the Danny Kyle Open Stage showcase at the Old Swan Inn and Spree For All events across Renfrewshire – don’t miss them!

St Mirren v Kilmarnock

St Mirren host Kilmarnock in this Scottish Premiership encounter on Saturday afternoon. Oran Kearney’s side will be looking to bounce back after defeat at the hands of Aberdeen before the international break – so head along to the Simple Digital Arena and cheer on The Buddies! Glasgow Clan v Coventry Blaze

The Glasgow Clan are in Elite League action against Coventry Blaze at Braehead Arena on Saturday evening. It’s set to be an exciting encounter and you won’t want to miss this 7pm face off! Tickets are selling fast so make sure you check the Clan website for availability by clicking the link below.

 Explorer Challenge: Be a Badger?

Enjoy some quality time with the family in the stunning surroundings of RSPB Lochwinnoch. While you’re there, why not take on the quirky Explorer Challenge: Be a Badger? Pop into the Visitor Centre any time where the friendly staff will get you started before you go out on the reserve and find out what it might be like to be a badger.
