The festive season is in full swing in Renfrewshire with more Christmas fun taking place in the area this weekend.
Johnstone will be switching on its Christmas Lights on Saturday while Paisley First’s WinterFest brings more festive fun this weekend.

Johnstone Christmas Lights Switch-On – Saturday 30 November – 12pm
Houstoun Square in Johnstone will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland as the town switches on its beautiful lights to mark the start of the festive season! Make sure you’re ready for the big moment at 5pm when the lights are switched on. Enjoy a busy afternoon of festive fun with activities starting at 12pm, including Santa’s Grotto (12noon – 4.45pm), St Vincent’s Christmas Market (12noon – 4.45pm) and face painting, glitter tattoos, arts & crafts and silent disco sessions (12noon – 4.45pm). Plus, don’t miss out on the Live Stage action from 2pm.

Paisley First WinterFest – Paisley Town Centre – Now until Monday 30 December
Paisley First’s WinterFest is in full swing this festive season. Take a ride on the beautiful Big Wheel, which is lighting up Paisley’s stunning skyline once again, and skate around on the brilliant outdoor ice rink. Visitors can also see BRICKLIVE Christmas – a very special Santa and his reindeers built using more than 500,000 LEGO® Bricks – and follow the Paisley Penguin Parade Trail around the town centre. Name all the penguins as you go and find the Christmas Rockhopper King Penguin to claim your prize. The Snow Queen – Paisley Arts Centre – Now until Tuesday 31 December
Pantomime returns to Paisley Arts Centre this festive season with The Snow Queen by PACE Youth Theatre. Enjoy a host of hilarious characters, fantastic original music and the liveliest, most energetic chorus of young actors. This is one fantastic family night out that you won’t want to miss.
