It’s Friday and time to look at the great things happening in Renfrewshire this weekend.

As well as the fantastic Barshaw Gala Day and other events and activities taking place across Renfrewshire this weekend, we’re taking a look at The Wee Spree activities at Paisley’s annual The Spree festival.

The Wee Spree – 11 – 19 October 2019

The Wee Spree returns as part of the annual The Spree festival in Paisley this October. There’s loads to keep the kids entertained in the spiegeltent during the school holidays including: the popular Funbox with their Rocking All Over the World show (15 October), Circus Stars – learn everything from hula hooping and juggling to tightwire with AerialEdge (16 October), Dance Along Mary Poppins Returns (17 October), Comedy4Kids (18 October) and Soundplay Dome at Johnstone Town Hall supported by Creative Scotland (18 & 19 October). Families can also enjoy Mini Manoeuvres and Baby Loves Disco (both 13 October), Computer Xplorers (12 October), Bricks4Kidz camps (15 October), Family Yoga (19 October) and Bookbug sessions. Paisley’s strong connection to Gaelic music and culture will be celebrated with @feisphaislig’s Stramash (19 October) and free Trad Tunes for Tiny People and Big Music for Little Ears shows (16 October). Barshaw Gala Day – Barshaw Park – Saturday – 11am

Get ready to enjoy a full day of fun at one of Paisley’s prettiest parks as the Barshaw Gala Day returns with more activities and entertainment than ever before. The popular event takes place at Barshaw Park on Saturday 22 June, from 11am until 4pm. Families can enjoy a host of things, including: musicians and dancers from the McCallum School of Music, Vision Dance Academy, Razzamataz, RockUs Choir, indie rockers Atomic and Zoe Tait, Frog Life – a pond wildlife and conservation virtual reality experience, a demonstration from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, inflatables, stalls, funfair rides and more! MZA Sneaky Fringe Previews – Paisley Arts Centre – Friday and Saturday – 7:30pm

Take a comedy sneak peek and enjoy two nights of hilarious all-star Edinburgh Fringe previews in the Workshop at Paisley Arts Centre. Join top comedians Craig Hill, Gareth Waugh and Mark Nelson for fantastic shows with some adult humour and rude (but hilarious) jokes. Please note that these shows are a “work in progress”.

Bowfield Wedding Day – Bowfield Hotel – Sunday – 12pm – 4pm

Head to the Bowfield Hotel for its wedding open day. Visitors can start to plan their big day, meet with suppliers such as wedding photographers, florists, cake company, makeup, hair, string quartet, wedding day dressing, candy cart and so much more. You will also have the chance to view our fully dressed function suites and discuss availability with our Wedding team.
