It’s a bumper weekend for things to do across Renfrewshire.
Stunning buildings and venues in the area will be throwing open their doors to the public as part of the annual favourite Doors Open Days celebrations.
It’s also the start of two fantastic festivals in Paisley, as well as shows and music nights galore.

Renfrewshire’s Doors Open Days – Saturday and Sunday
It’s the return of one of Renfrewshire’s favourite annual events – Doors Open Days! More than 50 buildings across Renfrewshire – many of which do not normally allow access to the public – will welcome people of all ages and share interesting stories on Renfrewshire’s history and heritage. Activities will take place in Paisley, Renfrew, Linwood, Johnstone, Lochwinnoch, Kilbarchan, Bridge of Weir, Houston, Erskine and Inchinnan, making for a spectacular weekend of free exploration and adventure. While you’re out and about exploring, why not pay a visit to the wealth of shops, local cafes and businesses too. We’re sure you’ll discover something new – plus, you’ll be doing your bit to Spend Local and support independent businesses across Renfrewshire.
Paisley Tango Festival – Friday 6 – Sunday 8 September
The Paisley Tango Festival returns for another fantastic weekend full of dance and music with top performers from around the world. Expect three days of partying with a series of workshops and performances across varying levels of dance difficulty.
Paisley Art Institute – Piazza Paisley – Saturday 7 September – Sunday 20 October
Scotland’s longest-running open art exhibition is going on the road this year! As Paisley Museum is currently undergoing a £42m transformation, Paisley Art Institute’s annual exhibition will instead ‘pop up’ in a brand-new gallery space inside the Piazza Shopping Centre. The annual exhibition will showcase paintings and sculptures by top contemporary artists from all over Scotland and beyond, attracted to Paisley by the many prizes available for exhibiting artists.
RURA – Paisley Arts Centre – Sunday – 7:30pm
Multi award-winning act RURA come to Paisley Arts Centre on Sunday. With their compellingly fiery, rugged yet refined and progressive instrumentals on fiddle, Highland pipes, flute, guitar, keyboards and bodhran, RURA are right at the forefront of 21st century Scottish folk.
