Travel by train

Paisley Gilmour St is the closest train station to the event, with regular services running from Glasgow Central, Ayrshire and Inverclyde.  

The journey time to Paisley from Glasgow Central is less than 15 minutes. On arrival at Paisley Gilmour St, exit via County Square and make your way up Gilmour St to reach the heart of the event site. 

Please be aware that train services are currently expected to be off on 29 October due to industrial action. Plan ahead at www.scotrail.co.uk 

Travel by bus

McGill’s Buses operate several services to Paisley town centre from across Renfrewshire and beyond.  

From 27 – 29 October, the following temporary bus stops will be in operation. 

Central Rd

  • 21 to Braehead
  • 22 to Erskine
  • 757 to Clydebank

High St (next to Jobcentre)

  • 7 to Linwood
  • 17 to Foxbar, Heriot Ave to QEUH (travelling to Foxbar/RAH)
  • 264 to Phoenix Retail Park

Mill St northbound (Renfrewshire House side)

  • 17 Foxbar, Heriot Avenue to QUEH (travelling to QEUH)
  • 26 to Glasgow
  • 38 to Glasgow
  •  166 to Gallowhill 

Mill St southbound (Lagoon Leisure Centre side)

  • 26 to Nethercraigs
  • 38 to Johnstone, Houston Sq
  • 51 to Barrhead, Oakbank Dr
  • 61 to Foxbar, Amochrie Rd
  • 166 to Neilston

Travel by car

Paisley town centre is a 12-minute drive from Glasgow city centre and just minutes away from the M8 motorway exits 27 and 29. If you’re travelling by car, there’s free parking available in the evenings at:

The following road closures and restrictions will be in place before, during and after Paisley Halloween Festival. 

Road closed from 0800-1700hrs on 22 October 

  • Cotton St (Northbound), from Renfrewshire House to Lawn St/Gauze St 

Road closed from 0001hrs on 23 October to 1000hrs on 2 November 

  • Bridge St from Renfrewshire House to Bridge St car park (car park closed) 

Car park closed from 0001hrs on 25 Oct to 1000hrs on 31 October 

  • Orchard St car park 

Roads closed from 1600 – 2300hrs on 27, 28 & 29 October 

  • Lawn St (after Abbey Inn) 
  • Gauze St, from Silk St to St Mirren Brae
  • Cotton St from Gauze St to Bridge St 
  • St Mirren Brae to Causeyside St at Forbes Place exit
