The bars, restaurants and businesses of Shuttle Street will also be joining in with the Sma’ Shot Day fun this year, with the following activities planned…
- 2pm – 5pm Stramash with Fèis Phàislig
Fèis Phàislig’s first ever Stramash event will feature top quality trad music alongside interactive performances for all ages. With space for dancing, you can join us for some ceilidh dancing or relax and enjoy the music with our Fèis musicians. Younger audience members will also get the chance to join the band for the afternoon! This event is free, no need to book in advance.
- 1pm – 5pm Create Paisley presents String Art
Kids can have a go at creating fun and colourful string art and work with others to create something amazing. This is a free, drop-in workshop, suitable for children of all ages.
- 1pm – 5pm Create Paisley presents Paper Heart Basket and Calligraphy
Create have teamed up with Toasty Type for a spot of heart shaped basket weaving and creative letter writing for kids. All materials will be provided too. This workshop is free to attend, no advance booking required.
- 1pm – 5pm Re-Mode presents Clothing Re-design
Make something old new again with block printing and up-cycling techniques taught by the Re-Mode designers. You’ll also be able to browse and buy re-designed clothing and find out more about other re-design workshops happening in Renfrewshire. This workshop is free to attend, no advance booking required.
Sma Shot Cottages
- 12noon – 5pm Weaving Demos & Renfrewshire Tapestry Group
Pop in from 12noon – 4pm for your chance to see what life was really like for the weavers in the 19th century. Catch a guided tour and watch live weaving demonstrations with Paisley Museum’s textiles expert, Dan Coughlan.
Or join the Renfrewshire Tapestry Group to contribute to the ‘Stitch in Time’ heritage project by adding your very own stitch to the growing tapestry.
