There will be a number of temporary road closures in the town centre for Paisley Christmas Lights Switch-on 2018.

Friday, 16th November 2018, 0100 hours, and will remain in operation until Sunday, 18th November 2018, 0800 hours

No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle or cause or permit any motor vehicle to wait or load at any time (except for vehicles engaged in Renfrewshire Council entertainment events and those seeking access to premises by stewards, where timetabling allows) on the following lengths of road, by reason of entertainment events to be held on or near these roads:

Friday 16th November (closure)

From 0100 hours onwards:

  • Bridge Street Car Park

Friday 16th November (waiting and loading ban only)

From 1800 hours onwards:

  • Gauze Street, from Lawn Street to High Street
  • High Street, from Gauze Street to St Mirren Street
  • St Mirren Street, from High Street to Causeyside Street
  • Cotton Street, from Bridge Street to Gauze Street
  • Lawn Street, from Silk Street to Gauze Street
  • Smithhills Street, from Central Way to Gauze Street

Saturday 17th November (waiting and loading ban only)

From 0001 hours onwards:

  • Causeyside Street (east side only), from Orchard Street to Johnstone Street
  • Johnstone Street (north side only), from Causeyside Street, eastwards for a distance of 15m

Saturday 17th November (road closure)

From 0001 hours onwards

  • Gauze Street, from Lawn Street to The Cross
  • St Mirren Street, from High Street to Causeyside Street
  • Cotton Street (northbound only), from Gauze Street to Council HQ
  • Lawn Street, from Gauze Street to Silk Street
  • Smithhills Street, from Central Way to Gauze Street

From 0800 hours onwards:

  • County Place, from Moss Street to Gilmour Street
  • Gilmour Street, from County Place to High Street
  • High Street, from Gilmour Street to New Street
  • Abbey Close

From 1100 hours till 1500 hours:

  • New Street, from Witherspoon Street to High Street
  • Weighhouse Close

Access will be maintained for Emergency Services at all times.  

This notice will only be effective when so displayed by signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
