There will be a number of temporary road closures in the town centre for Renfrew Christmas Lights Switch-on 2018.

Friday, 23rd November 2018, 1800 hours (Charles Avenue parking suspension only) and will remain in operation until Saturday, 24th November 2018 (majority of closures coming into effect from 1500 hours).

No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle or cause or permit any motor vehicle to wait or load at any time (except for vehicles engaged in Renfrewshire Council entertainment events and those seeking access to premises by stewards, where timetabling allows) on the following lengths of road, by reason of entertainment event to be held on or near these roads:

Friday 23rd November (parking suspended)

From 1800 hours onwards:

  • South-eastern corner area of Charles Avenue car park, reserved for fairground rides

Saturday 24th November (no waiting and loading only)

From 0700 hours onwards:

  • High Street (both sides) for approximately 60 metres south from the Cross
  • Canal Street
  • Manse Street
  • Dunlop Street
  • Houston Street
  • Fulbar Street

Saturday 24th November (no waiting and loading only)

From 1100 hours onwards:

  • Hairst Street, from High Street to Glebe Street

Saturday 24th November (closure)

From 1500 hours to approximately 1800 hours:

  • Hairst Street, from Glebe Street to High Street
  • Canal Street, from High Street to Renfield Street
  • Houston Street, from Wilson Street to Fulbar Lane
  • Fulbar Street, from Wilson Street to Bell Street
  • Wilson Street, from Renfield Street to Fulbar Street
  • High Street, from Glebe Street to Queen Street
  • Manse Street

Please note that some bus services will be affected by these closures including the following McGill’s routes:

21 to Govan/Paisley – nearest stop will be Glebe St
23 & x23 to Glasgow/Erskine – nearest stop will be Glebe St
26 to Glasgow/Nethercraigs – nearest stop will be Glebe St

Access will be maintained for Emergency Services at all times.

On site staff will be able to advise of specific areas unaffected by events, including parking.

This notice will only be effective when so displayed by signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
