Castle Semple Visitor Centre

A gateway to the wonderful Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park – enjoy outdoor pursuits in some of Renfrewshire’s most stunning scenery.

The Visitor Centre and Country Park is packed with family activities and adventure for all ages. From cycling to archery, you will find an adrenaline-pumping activity to enjoy.

Of course, the amazing landscape can also be peaceful and tranquil, allowing you to kick back, relax and take in your amazing surroundings with friends and family with BBQ and picnics sites available.

The Visitor Centre hosts lots of events and has a small exhibition on the history of Castle Semple Estate – it includes an impressive full size map from 1785.

If you fancy yourself as a Bear Grylls-type, you can take full advantage of Castle Semple’s excellent learning and training courses. Learn about the Regional Park’s wildlife and culture or organise an educational outing for your school or group.

Castle Semple is a First Scottish Royal Yachting Association Sailablility ‘Centre of Excellence’.

 

Bus number 4 or 307 from railway station to Lochwinnoch village.

 

Eat / drink

The lochside café (and gift shop) with comfortable seats and great views, sells hot and cold drinks, pre-packed sandwiches, frappes/smoothies, and other delicious treats.

Opening times
Walks and trails are open daily all year. Visitor Centre is open daily, 10am – 5pm from April – Septemberand and 10am – 4pm in winter months.

Cost
Free entry to the Country Park and Visitor Centre. Specific activities and hires may incur fees.

Getting there
Lochwinnoch Railway Station  is approx 1 mile away. Bus number 4 or 307 from railway station to Lochwinnoch village.

Accessibility
Castle Semple Centre has specialist staff, facilities and equipment to accommodate people of all abilities. First Scottish Royal Yachting Association Sailablility ‘Centre of Excellence’ awarded in 2012. Cycling for the less able – seasonally available tandems, trikes and wheelchair cycles available. The site has received 5 star reviews from users on Euan’s Guide and takes part in Disabled Access Day each year. Outdoor Activity Instructors can discuss your requirements and tailor-make activity sessions to your needs.
