Visitors to this year’s Paisley Food & Drink Festival will be able to experience PLATFORM on Tour, the touring street food market and bar brought to you by the team at PLATFORM, Glasgow’s only city centre street food independent street food market, which takes place every week from its home at Argyle Street Arches, just under Central Station.

PLATFORM on Tour is really excited to make the Paisley Food and Drink Festival our first outdoor event of the year. We’re bringing nine of Scotland’s best street food traders, our giant Kata tee-pee tents, colourful furniture, face-painter, DJ’s, a range of Innis & Gunn craft Arch Brews, and cutting-edge cocktails utilising some of Scotland’s finest craft spirits.

All PLATFORM on Tour traders adhere to Scotland’s Food Charter for Events, which means produce is locally and sustainably sourced, seasonal, free range and fair trade. It also means it’s a whole lot tastier, as evidenced by the fact that many of their traders have had their achievements recognised by the British Street Food Awards.

All of the PLATFORM food traders have been chosen for their creativity and flair, and will offer children’s portions at a reduced price, which means there is something to please everyone. Below is just a small selection of the food which will be available at PLATFORM on Tour.

Bowl Food is all about fast, fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food. If it’s served in a bowl, you’ll find it here, all served from Ethel, a green 1972 French Citroen H van. Heart-warming, belly-filling, wholesome, home-made food at affordable prices, Bowl Food’s inspiration comes from all four corners of the world, but they always try to keep their produce local. Whether it’s jerk goat with coconut polenta and zingy fresh pineapple salsa, or tropical rainbow salad with roasted yams and Jabanero mango dressing they have a fresh and colourful bowl for you!


Ginger & Chilli’s Asian street food is your ticket to Sri Lanka to Penang, via Kerala, Phuketand Glasgow, without a plane or train in sight. Finalists in The British Street Food Awardsin 2018, just one year after establishing their business, this is your opportunity to sample their award winning fluffy steamed bao buns. Filled with pickled cucumber, crispymarinated paneer, house Asian slaw, spring onions, chillies, sour mango & jaggery sauce, green chutney, they are finished with a sprinkle of crunchy Bombay mix. With Head Chef and owner Ronan just back from a culinary adventure in Thailand and Vietnam, we can’t wait to taste how his recent travels have influenced his menu.


Look out for Fritti’s gorgeous converted Piaggio Ape van, which will be serving up the flavours of southern Italy to the people of Paisley. Whilst travelling in Naples and Sicily, owners Paul and Kasia were inspired by the food, the flavours and the way that people ate.

Fritti brings this passion for food and the flavours of the Mediterranean back to the west coast of Scotland. They use only the best ingredients to bring back their memories and the flavours of their travels, and you can taste this in their food. Try their delicious golden saffron risotto arancini rice balls, choose from either Nduja and mozzarella filling or the classic spinach and ricotta, or panzerotti, traditional Neapolitan style deep fried pizza with a choice of fillings including Italian sausage with fennel, Fior di Latte mozzarella and tomato sumo.

Freddy & Hicks started making their famous hand-made veggie burgers in 2006 at Borough Market and their journey has brought them through 3 different countries, countless markets, festivals & events before settling in Glasgow. The festival will be the debut appearance of their shiny new horsebox, from which they’ll be offering a full vegan menu, featuring super seitan patties in their classic or spicy BBQ burgers as well as vegetarian delights such as their halloumi burgers with roasted beetroot, caramelised onions & carrot slaw. Just remember to leave some room for their renowned loaded sweet potato fries with fresh salsa, olives, jalapeños & sriracha mayo!

Hot dogs remain eternally popular, but Brigston & Co. make speciality hot dogs like no other and are on a mission to change the perception of the hot dog. Passionate about the quality and provenance of the ingredients used, they spent over a year developing, testing and trialling their recipe to achieve the perfect depth of flavour and smokiness. All their unique handmade, craft smoked hot dogs are made from Scottish Farm Assured beef and pork, delicately ground to the perfect texture with their own secret recipe of ten herbs and spices. They also make all their own condiments. We can’t wait to try their Mexican Dog: Brigston beef and mixed bean chilli with Lockerbie cheddar, toasted corn salsa and avocado crema!

Shawarmarama are bringing the flavours of the middle east to Paisley, with modern kebabs made using the best ingredients. Everything is cooked to order with home-made house sauces, fragrant spices and authentic flavours and wrapped up in a tasty toasted Lebanese flat bread. Their healthy and exciting short menu features a selection of high-quality, flavoursome dishes. The lamb merguez sausages are handmade by award winning butchers Skinners of Kippen, and the sumac marinated chicken kebab is halal. Their mini-mezze platter is the perfect introduction to middle eastern food, serving up sweet potato hummus, walnut muhammara, marinated olives, dukkha and toasted flatbread. All meals can be made completely gluten free upon request, and the cauliflower and pea falafel kebab can also be made completely vegan. Shawarmarama have the kids covered too, with mini Shawarma kebabs which can be served plain or loaded.

Not all desserts are created equal, so make sure you leave some room for Crema Caravan’s award-winning crème brûlée, which won ‘Best Dessert’ in the 2015 British Street Food awards, and a place in the finals in 2018. Every crème is burned to order and served with a sinful range of toppings including chocolate brownie, salted caramel sauce, fresh apple compote and crushed shortbread crumble.

Chunk’s Ice Cream will be selling their homemade waffles and Porrelli’s ice cream tacos, topped with mallow fluff and Oreo chunks, or vegan friendly coconut and mango ice cream topped with toasted coconut flakes and raspberry, lime coulis.

All Box Office’s pizzas are freshly cooked to order in their artisan wood fired oven, using only authentic Italian 00 flour in the slow-proofed-dough. This, coupled with the exceedingly high cooking temperature of the wood fired oven creates an exceptionally light crispy crust, which makes it the perfect base for a range of delicious toppings including Stornoway black pudding and home-made apple chutney. Veggies will love the Veggie Deluxe, with artichoke hearts, peppers, roasted squash and goats cheese, or the classic Margherita with Lockerbie cheddar and Fior di Latte mozzarella.
