Road closures and alternative bus routes at Sma’ Shot Day

Ahead of Paisley’s Sma’ Shot Day celebrations taking place this weekend please be aware the following temporary parking restrictions and road closures will be in place covering the period of 2359 on Friday 5 July until 2100 on Saturday 6 July.

Friday 5 July from 2359 hours onwards (Prohibition of waiting and loading):

  • Lady Lane, Paisley
  • George Street, from Lady Lane to Causeyside Street
  • Weighhouse Close, Paisley
  • George Place, from George Street to Shuttle Street
  • Wardrope Street, Paisley

Saturday 6 July from 0600 hours onwards (Closure):

  • Witherspoon Street, from Paisley Centre car park to New Street
  • New Street, from Causeyside Street to Weighhouse Close
  • George Place, from George Street to Shuttle Street
  • Browns Lane, Paisley
  • Shuttle Street, Paisley

Saturday 6 July from 0001 hours onwards (Closure):

  • Orchard Street car park

Saturday 6 July from 0001 hours until 1600 hours (Prohibition of waiting and loading):

  • Braids Road, from Falside Road to Neilston Road
  • Neilston Road, from Lochfield Road to Causeyside Street
  • Causeyside Street, from Neilston Road to St Mirren Street
  • Orchard Street, from Causeyside Street to Bridge Street

Saturday 6 July from 1130 hours until 1330 hours (Closure):

  • Braids Road, from Falside Road to Neilston Road
  • Neilston Road, from Lochfield Road to Causeyside Street
  • Causeyside Street, from Neilston Road to St Mirren Street
  • Orchard Street, from Causeyside Street to Bridge Street
  • St Mirren Street, from Causeyside Street to High Street
  • High Street, from St Mirren Street to Gauze Street
  • Gauze Street, from High Street to Smithhills Street

Access will be maintained for Emergency Services at all times.

Alternative routes: High Street, Wellmeadow Street, Broomlands Street, Maxwellton Street, George Street, Canal Street, Causeyside Street or vice versa.

 

Some McGills Bus services will also follow alternative routes on Sma’ Shot Day.

Saturday 6 July, 0600 – 2100 (approx.)

A diversion will be in place rerouting services around the event site, but if you would normally wait for a bus service on New Street, Witherspoon Street or Storie Street, please make your way to Gauze Street (Paisley Cross) where temporary bus stops will be in operation.

Saturday 6 July, 1130 – 1330

During the parade phase of Sma’ Shot Day, the following temporary bus stops will be in operation.

  • Number 6 to Silverburn will stop at Smithhills Street
  • Number 7 to Linwood will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 10 going towards Ben Nevis Estate will stop on Gauze Street (outside Coral)
  • Number 10 going towards RAH will stop on Gauze St (opposite Gabriels)
  • Number 17 to QEUH & Glasgow will stop at Abercorn Street
  • Number 20 to Whitehaugh will stop on Bridge Street
  • Numbers 20 & 38 to Johnstone will stop on Gauze St opposite Coral
  • Number 26 towards Braehead will stop at Smithhills Street
  • Number 26 towards Nethercraigs will stop at Smithhills Street
  • Number 26 to Braehead and Glasgow will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 38 to Glasgow will stop on Gauze St (outside Coral)
  • Number 51 to Barrhead will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 54 to Neilston will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 60 to Foxbar & RAH will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 61 to Foxbar will stop at Smithhills Street
  • Number 64 to Gallowhill will stop at Smithhills Street
  • Number 64 to Ferguslie will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 66 to Dykebar will stop at Bridge Street
  • Number 904 to Largs will stop on Gauze St (opposite Coral)
