About Us is a spectacular, outdoor event exploring 13.8 billion years of history through live performance, cutting-edge projection-mapping, and video installations.
About Us explores the story of our universe from the Big Bang to the present day, in an open event which is free for all to attend. It is the opening event of UNBOXED, a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of creativity taking place across the UK this year, and the first of six UNBOXED projects taking place in Scotland.
Produced by 59 Productions, the award-winning design studio and production company best known in Scotland for creating a series of spectacular opening events for the Edinburgh International Festival, working in collaboration with Stemettes and The Poetry Society, About Us will transform the landmark Paisley Abbey into a vast canvas, combining live projection-mapped animation with a new score from acclaimed composer and musician Nitin Sawhney. Specially created poetry and scratch animations by young people from Renfrewshire and across Scotland completes the event.
The 25-minute projection show is outdoors and free to attend, with multiple live shows every evening.
