Music In the Library

Renfrewshire Council and Renfrewshire Leisure present a free music programme as part of ‘Farewell Frenzy’ at Paisley Museum & Art Galleries and Central Library. A unique opportunity to experience new, local live bands a in the atmospheric setting of the former Central Library on Paisley’s High Street.

**DOGTOOTH**

Dogtooth are quite simply on fire. They have played more gigs than any band of their age in the country. The power trio met at Loud n Proud and soon after that they were out playing at festivals and venues all over the UK and Ireland. They started out playing songs from The Jam, The Kinks, Stone Roses and went down a storm at Mod Weekenders. Now they have a set full of their own songs and are set to go places. The line-up is John Hewitson on Guitar and vocals, Craig Morrison an Bass and Robert Lang on Drums and Vocals.

  **UNCUT**

Although young in years Uncut have played at many top events including The Bungalow Musical, Paisley Music Week and The Spree.

They are a 3 piece rock band from Paisley and get some of their influence from Black Sabbath, AC/DC, The Stooges and Led Zeppelin. The line-up is Drums/vocals: Shay McDermott, Bass: Angus Richardson and Guitar: Bradley Maher.

  **VERA**

Vera are a 4 piece Indie band from Paisley. Despite being together only recently they made the final of The Danny Kyle Stage Awards at The Spree. The band have quickly established themselves on the local music scene. Their line-up is Eve Sutherlis on Guitar and Vocals, Cameron Hope on Drums, Rachel McGovern on Guitar and Reece Craig on bass.

  **THE SPYRES **

The Spyres are two young singer songwriters Keira McGuire and Emily Downie. Emily went to MSM School of Music and sang for Loud n Proud. Both play acoustic guitar, sing and love playing live. They now have several original songs under their belt in addition to numerous classic covers. They’ve played up and down the UK in iconic venues like the Cavern Club, Liverpool and King Tuts, Glasgow and take their influences from bands such as Wolf Alice & The Van T’s. Next step is getting into the studio to record with a full band. Check out their latest updates on Facebook.

  **GHOST BABY**

Ghostbaby are Sam Cameron, John McGovern, Josh Gilchrist, Joe Cameron and they are a four piece indie-punk band from Paisley who have spent the last year gigging Glasgow venues honing their live show. Ghostbaby have been described by The Skinny as “adolescent grunge reminiscent of Blur”, they draw inspiration from the likes of Pixies and Lou Reed. Ghostbaby conjure a sweet and sour mix of luscious song writing with abrasive guitar riffs that will make you shiver.
