Irvine Welsh signs copies of *Dead Men’s Trousers*, his new novel continuing the story of Renton, Begbie, Sick Boy and Spud of his era-defining *Trainspotting*.

Scottish author Irvine Welsh is best known as the author of the 1993 novel *Trainspotting*, a collection of short stories about a group of friends and acquaintances in Leith in the late 80s, many of whom are dependent on alcohol or heroin. *Trainspotting* the film hit the big screen in 1996, directed by Danny Boyle and starring Ewan McGregor as Mark Renton. Welsh has revisited the *Trainspotting characters* in numerous works, including *Porno* (2002), *Skagboys* (2012) and *The Blade Artist* (2016). Follow him on Twitter, he’s a funny guy.
