The old walled garden, a haven in a busy world and one of Paisley’s forgotten treasures, has been adopted by ‘Friends of Barshaw’, volunteers, who are working to bring it back to its formal glory. Designated a Peace Garden, it contains borders of colour and interest all year round, from bulbs to perennials and glorious bushes. The rest of the park with a boating pond and children’s play area, can be enjoyed at leisure. Teas are available to buy in the teashop in the park.
This is a fundraising event for the open garden charity Scotland’s Gardens Scheme which raises money for hundreds of local charities.
