This event with local writers Mairi Murphy, Morag Smith, Kathryn Metcalfe and Lesley Traynor was born out of a group who supported and encouraged each other to emerge from lockdown by sharing their love of poetry, taking inspiration from women in their own lives – not just writers and poets – who had survived hardship, famine, or war. This inspiration instilled them with a desire to write honestly about women’s stories that have been hidden. Who are they? What do they tell us? How do they inform our writing? What can they teach us about our future? Readings will be followed by a short Q&A.
