The Easter holidays are fast approaching, and two weeks can feel like a long time to keep the kids entertained. Luckily, there’s loads of family friendly fun happening across Renfrewshire. With a range of affordable Easter activities, you don’t need to break the bank to keep your kids entertained over the holidays.

Here’s some fun things to do in Renfrewshire that are budget-friendly and perfect for families.


Paisley Busy Bees Spring Trail

Paisley’s Busy Bees Spring Trail is buzzing into town from Friday 4 until Monday 21 April. Every child will collect a free Easter chocolate treat for completing the trail when they arrive at the 10th business on the map. And don’t forget to post your entry form in one of the special post-boxes located in either of the shopping centres to be entered into the prize draw!

You can collect your Busy Bees Spring Trail leaflets from the Paisley First leaflet racks in the Piazza, the Paisley Shopping Centre or the Lagoon Leisure Centre.

Easter Fun at Ikea

Head to Ikea for some Easter fun. Kids can take part in a free craft session and make bunny masks on 7 and 10 April between 11am and 4pm. Or visit over Easter weekend for lunch with the Easter bunny. Kids can get involved in some crafty easter activities, pin the tummy on the bunny and music whilst enjoying a delicious lunch for 99p. Be quick though, limited spots are remaining for Saturday 19 April at 12noon.

Dinosaur Egg Hunt at Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve

Explore the woodland trails at RSPSB Lochwinnoch Nature Reserve this Easter on this self-led Dinosaur Egg Hunt. See if you can complete any of the challenges on the back of your guidebook as well as finding all the eggs before coming back to claim your reward! Activity packs cost £4.00 plus £1.00 booking fee for online purchases. They are also available to purchase for £4.00 from the visitor centre.

Dog’s Day Out at Robertson Park

Dog’s Day Out at Renfrew’s Robertson Park is a free event on Sunday 13 April from 10am until 4pm with lots of fun activities for you and your four-legged family members. With market stalls, dog companion shows, food for you and your fluffy friend and much more, it is a brilliant family friendly and dog friendly event!

Easter Egg Trail at Weaver’s Cottage

Make this an Easter to remember by taking part in Weavers Cottage’s annual Easter Egg Trail. Follow the trail, collect the clues, solve the puzzle and win your chocolate reward! The trail will take place outdoors over Easter weekend from 18 until 21 April between 10am and 4pm. Tickets cost less than £6 and should be purchased for each child taking part.

Free retro gaming at Braehead

Braehead Shopping Centre are turning their Central Atrium (outside JD) into a free retro gaming zone this Easter from 5 until 21 April. With a selection of retro games from Pacman to dance mats, this is sure to be fun for kids and adults alike. Take some pictures to remember your trip in the free interactive photo booth, and if you tag Braehead on any social media posts you could win a £50 voucher to spend in the centre.

Kids’ cinema screenings

Why not head to the cinema to see a kids’ film. It’s not just the films that are kid friendly, but the prices are too – starting as low as £2.50 a ticket on most weekend and school holiday mornings. Head to Cineworld, Odeon, or Vue, and be sure to check the participating cinemas and times.
