Thursday 4th July, 2024

The first ten paving stones have been unveiled for Paisley’s Buddie Walk of Fame.

Paisley has been contributing to the world stage for centuries. Now, Paisley Buddies from the worlds of stage, screen, music, art and sport have been honoured in a Hollywood Boulevard-style pavement trail.

  • Tom Conti, outside the newly-refurbished Paisley Arts Centre on New Street.
  • Paolo Nutini, outside Castelvecchi, his parent’s chip shop, on New Street.
  • Phyllis Logan, outside Phelp’s Butchers on Causeyside Street.
  • David Tennant, close to his former school Paisley Grammar School on Glasgow Road.
  • Gerard Butler, outside The Exchange – soon to be Scotland’s first purpose-built youth theatre – on Old Sneddon Street.
  • Fulton Mackay, near the train station on Gilmour Street.
  • local boxing legend Norrie Sweeney, close to his old boxing gym on Storie Street.
  • Paisley’s Mill Girls, on Bridge Street overlooking the old mill.

I'm honoured to be included in the Buddie Walk of Fame and thanks to everyone who voted for me. I'm proud to have attended Paisley Grammar and I'm delighted that my star is being unveiled outside my old school.
