There’s much more to a child or teenager’s life than school – or at least there should be. Easter camp at Aerial Edge is a brilliant opportunity to broaden your horizons in multiple ways.
Through aerial and acrobatic activities (including our famous flying trapeze) you can:
• Get out of your head, where school keeps you, and keep a strong connection to your body, which supports healthy development and growth
• Make friends and have huge fun with them on the apparatus
• Explore creative self-expression, a crucial need in young people which is often suppressed in the academic-led school environment
• Enjoy physical activities which are all about collaboration, not competition, where you can thrive with our supportive, non-judgemental ethos
• Develop physical and mental coordination, concentration and confidence just by having fun with the equipment
If you’ve never done anything like this before, the supportive instructors will help you to find out what you love. Everyone is capable of achieving cool aerial and acrobatic moves, step by step.
If you enjoy dancing, gymnastics, acrobatics, parkour or trampoline, circus activities will develop those skills further, while you learn new arts – and you may love the freedom of the circus approach.
Most people love flying trapeze but if it’s not your thing, that’s ok. There are plenty of other aerial options – static and dance trapeze, silks, hoop, rope and hammock. There’s also acrobatics, group acrobalance, trampoline, parkour, juggling, tightwire, object manipulation and flow arts including hula hooping.
Aerial Edge has been dedicated to developing people through circus since 2007, so instructors are experts at encouraging life skills along with the activities.
You can see videos of Youth Circus at www.aerialedge.co.uk or @aerial_edge on Instagram.
Everything at Aerial Edge is learning through having fun, and anyone can do it, regardless of age, experience, body type or other factors. If you think you’ll need some assistance, just drop a note to info@aerialedge.co.uk outlining your situation.
You can book specific days at £60 each or come for all five days for £220 – that means you get more than a full day free. Parents can watch from the reception coffee area, or drop and go.
If you enjoy this, you’ll love Youth Circus classes which run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays, with another class for ages 1-7 on Fridays. You can perform in the end-of-term show if you want!
