Stephen Ratomski: Solo Exhibition

Tuesday 14 April, 2020

Stephen Ratomksi will present an exhibition of new and existing work in the Art Lovers Café in the Spring. A painter and print-maker, Ratomski’s artworks often consist of layers of paint, texture, collage and drawn marks to make complex surfaces which capture a sense of place and mood or feeling – a product of looking at and observing the world around him. He works from memory and imagination, his interest lying in the dialogue between flatness and depth in the rectangle of a painting or print, and with a delight in the hand of the artist: brushstrokes, marks, scratches and scrapes.

Ratomski was awarded the exhibition here at House for an Art Lover on the strength of his work presented in the Paisley Art Institute’s Annual Exhibition in September this year.

Stephen Ratomski is an artist living and working in Dunfermline, Fife. He studied Drawing & Painting at Edinburgh College of Art. Stephen has presented work in solo and group presentations across Scotland. He is a Professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists and Founder of Fife Polish Arts Group, he was formerly the Chairperson, Fife Dunfermline Printmakers Workshop (2007 to 2017).
