We’ve got some great places to play, opportunities to get sporty and fantastic outdoor options in out ultimate guide to summer fun. From picking fruit to jumping in puddles, there’s something for everyone.

Events and Festivals

Mythical Beasts summer trail

Running from Saturday 24 June to Sunday 13 August, the Mythical Beasts summer trail is sure to be popular with local families and visitors to the town. Discover the majestic Hippogrif, the Owl of Athena, the vengeful Minotaur, the fearsome four-headed Chimera and the seven-headed Hydra. The trail is free, and with 18 different beasts to find, it’s fun for the whole family. Presented by Paisley First. Trail maps showing participating businesses are available from the Piazza Shopping Centre and The Paisley Centre.

Inflatable Fun Days – Ingliston 

Bounce into the summer every Tuesday and Wednesday from the 11 July until 9 August at Ingliston Estate and Country Club. Enjoy unlimited bouncing fun plus outdoor games like giant jenga, connect four and beat the goalie. Pop up food stalls will also be selling snacks to keep those hungry appetites at bay. Session times are 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm. Tickets cost £2 for adults and £10 for kids.

Ferguslie Park Gala Day – Paisley

Join in on all the family fun at the Ferguslie Park Gala Day on Saturday 5 August from 12noon to 3pm at the Tannahill Centre. There will be lots of free family fun guaranteed to keep the kids happy including inflatables, face painting, glitter tattoos, magician, Paisley radio and a bucking bronco, plus the café will be open too!

Summer Ceilidh with Fèis Phàislig – Erksine

Enjoy a night of performances and dancing from Fèis Phàislig and the debut performance of Erskine Arts Choir accompanied by Erskine Arts’ talented young musicians!

The Ceilidh takes place at Eskine Arts on Wednesday 2nd August from 7-8.30pm, doors open at 6.30pm

The Fèis Phàislig Ceilidh Trail gives musicians aged 16-25 the opportunity to experience life on the road as a traditional musician.

Erskine Arts have offered tickets at three different prices so you can choose what you would like to pay. If money is still a barrier please email us at info@erskinearts.co.uk and they can discuss further options.

Lochwinnoch Ceilidh Trail Concert
The Fèis Phàislig Ceilidh Trail brings together six talented up-and-coming musicians to experience life as a touring musician for two weeks in summer.

The group perform a mix of traditional and contemporary Scottish and Gaelic music with toe-tapping jigs and reels as well as intricate, contemporary arrangements.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the next generation of traditional musicians performing live – Thursday 3 August from 7.20-8.20pm in The Three Churches Lochwinnoch.

Farmers’ markets

Bishopton and Dargavel Farmers’ Market

Enjoy a leisurely stroll on Saturday morning and sample locally produced food and drink. The Bishopton and Dargavel Farmers’ Market takes place at Bishopton train station car park on the third Saturday of every month. Summer markets include Saturday 15 July, Saturday 19 August and Saturday 16 September.

Renfrew Market

Support local business and come along to Renfrew Market. Taking place on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 10am until 4pm in Robertson Park at the Inchinnan Road entrance. You will find fresh produce, artisan crafts, unique gifts and street food! Summer dates include Sunday 9 July, Sunday 13 August, Sunday 10 September.

Summer Camps, Classes and Workshops

Barshaw Junior Parkrun

Dust off your running shoes, grab the kids and jog on over to Barshaw Park every Sunday morning at 9.30am. Barshaw Junior Parkrun is a weekly, free 2km timed run open juniors aged between 4 and 14 years old and all running abilities.

OneRen Cool Summer Activity Camps

Have a cool summer with OneRen’s activity camps. Running from 3 July to 11 August you can choose from summer kids camps which include a variety of fun activities and things to do including sports and arts and crafts or a more specialised Scottish FA Football Camp, Dance and Movement Camp or their Disability Dance Club. OneRen Summer Swimming

Make a splash this summer and dive into your local swimming pool. Family swim passes give you 30 days unlimited swimming for two adults and two children for £24.99. Alternatively come along to splash sessions in Johnston Community Sports Hub, or fun sessions at Renfrew Swimming Baths from £2.

Paisley 10k Road Race and Fun Run

Paisley 10k Road Race and Fun Run takes place on Sunday 20 August 2023. The 10K Road Race is suitable for runners of all levels from novices to experienced club and international runners. For families, friends and youngsters, there is the shorter Fun Run that takes in some of Paisley Town Centre’s most famous landmarks.

Adult and Kids Summer Workshops at Restoration & Creation

Restoration and Creation at Browns Lane have a series of workshops available over the summer holidays for kids and adults. You can choose from a range of activities including arts and crafts, block printing, furniture upcycling to pampas grass wreath making. Visit Restoration and Creation for more information.

Get Outdoors

Our ultimate guide to summer fun had to have some great options to get outdoors!

Summer Super Spotter Challenge – RSPB Lochwinnoch

Take part in this fun self-led activity around RSPB Lochwinnoch throughout the entire month of July from 9.30am to 4pm for £3.50 per pack. See what wild discoveries you can make and use your wildlife skills to spot all the curious creatures on your activity sheet. There is even a prize at the visitor centre once you have completed your challenge.

Dragon Hunt – RSPB Lochwinnoch

Explore the woodland trails at RSPB Lochwinnoch and learn about dragonflies and damselflies. Look out for hidden dragons along the way, complete the wildlife challenges and find the missing letters to complete the mystery word. Taking place from 1 to 31 August from 9.30am to 4pm this self-led event costs £3 per pack.
