An Evening of American Folk Music With Jericho Hill and Guests

Friday 21 June, 2019

Welcome to Scotland’s greatest Johnny Cash Tribute! Jericho Hill formed in 2009 to take the music, attitude and style of Johnny Cash and the Tennessee Three to an audience across the country and beyond. Veterans of festivals and venues from Nairn to Nantucket, Jericho Hill play the music of The Man In Black in the authentic, raw rock and roll style that made his name. This is not a cabaret turn; Jericho Hill are a full-on, full band (with “June Carter”) full-steam-ahead rockin’ machine who epitomise the energy and élan of Johnny Cash. Playing songs from the early Sun Records days right through to the Rick Rubin-produced “American” series, Jericho Hill take the fan on a journey through the world of Johnny Cash. Despite many of the songs being about prison, execution, murder, death, funerals and other such misery, Jericho Hill are a live party bar none; it always amazes us that every age group are familiar with the music of Johnny and this is not a band that is a museum piece. If “Ring Of Fire” doesn’t get you up to dance, nothing will. Having appeared at Belladrum, Wickerman, March Into Pitlochry, Rebellion Punk Festival and many others, Jericho Hill are a band that appeal to all. Get Rhythm and dance to The Man In Black! The Glasgow based band are regularly joined by virtuoso mandolinist Laura-Beth Salter and renowned 5-string fiddler Aileen (Reid) Gobbi. The Daddy Naggins unites powerful harmony vocals to bring you traditional bluegrass classics, folk songs and well known modern covers – all with that authentic ‘high lonesome sound’.
