Parade

The festival parade will take place at 7pm on both evenings (Friday and Saturday) and last for approximately 60 minutes.

The parade will take in:

  • Smithhills Street
  • Gauze Street
  • Mill Street
  • Bridge Street
  • Cotton Street
  • Gauze Street
  • Gilmour Place

 

Featuring world-class performers – vibrant musical group Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, spine-tingling Spark! LED Drummers, Uncle Doom and his Organ of Gloom, Tanzanian acrobats The Black Eagles and comedy-on-wheels Circadian Troup – the spectacular, 300-strong parade will wind through Paisley town centre each night from 7pm.

 

Joined by hundreds of local community participants, this year inspired by the theme of ‘Children’s Books and Films’, to bring you Giant Chess Pieces from Harry Potter, Fantastic Mr Fox and his pack of mini-foxes, a Mary Poppins LED umbrella ensemble, monster creatures from Where the Wild Things Are, Wednesday and the Addams Family, Wicked, Cruella and her acrobatic dalmatians, and much more.

Grandstand seating

Please note that tickets for our Grandstand Seating Area are now SOLD OUT.

Tickets cost £15 each. Children aged 2 years and under do not require a ticket if sitting on parent, or guardian’s lap. Children aged 3 – 15 years do require a ticket and must be accompanied by a paying adult.

Ticket-holders will enjoy:

  • Fantastic view of the parade
  • A complimentary hot drink and baked item of your choice from Coffee Mill. Please present your ticket at Coffee Mill (adjacent to the Grandstand seating area) on arrival.

Wrist-banded access from 5.30pm – 9pm, with ticket-holders able to come and go throughout (wristbands provided after initial ticket check)

Maximum of 4 tickets per order. Please present your ticket on arrival. You can use your paperless ticket on any mobile device. Printed tickets are also accepted.

Please note: Prams and car seats are not allowed in the grandstand seating area – there is a dedicated covered buggy park available next to the grandstand seating area. Items are left in this area at your own risk.

Opening times

Access to the grandstand seating area will open at 5.30pm. Ticket holders should be seated by 6.30pm, at least 30 minutes before the parade start time of 7pm.

Pre-parade entertainment for ticket holders from 6.30pm.

Ticket allows wrist-banded access, open from 5.30pm – 9pm, with ticket-holders able to come and go throughout on the evening purchased (Friday or Saturday).

Please note any items including valuables or bags must not be left unattended in the grandstand seating area and will be removed.

About the experience

The parade leaves its starting point at 7pm and takes approximately 60 minutes to complete its route around the town centre.

The parade is suitable for all ages and takes place outdoors.

The grandstand seating area is covered but we encourage all attendees to dress for the weather with warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear/bring a blanket.

Toilets and facilities

Toilets including baby change and accessible toilets are available nearby.

A Quiet Space marquee is available nearby.

There will be a mobile Changing Places toilet located on the path outside Renfrewshire House on Cotton Street.

Food and drink

All ticket holders receive a complimentary hot drink and baked item of your choice from Coffee Mill. Please present your ticket at Coffee Mill (adjacent to the Grandstand seating area) on arrival.

Food and drink can be brought into the grandstand seating area.

A variety of other food and drink options are available to purchase throughout the event site.

Accessibility

Please note the grandstand seating is not accessible. An accessible viewing area is available next to the seating area. Please contact events@renfrewshire.gov.uk for more information on accessible viewing.
