We are committed to reducing waste and promoting recycling at Paisley Food and Drink Festival.

Waste reduction and recycling

We encourage you to recycle your waste in the coloured bins provided across the event site, which are clearly sign-posted.

Our traders are committed to no use of single-use plastics, in favour of paper-based products where possible.

If possible, we encourage you to re-use your cups during the event.

Bring Your Own Reusable Cup (BYOC) or food container

We encourage you to bring your own reusable cup or food container.

Please make sure your cup is clean and suitable for the type of beverage you plan to purchase. This could be for either hot or cold beverages or food, for example, coffee cups, flasks or Tupperware.

Please note that glass cups are not permitted.

Bars and traders have the right to refuse use of your cup if it is not deemed suitable, for example, for serving beer in pint or half-pint measures.

Local traders and suppliers

To help reduce transport and travel emissions, as well as to boost the local economy, many festival traders and suppliers are local to Renfrewshire, and most are Scotland-based.

Our traders are encouraged to use locally-produced and seasonal ingredients.

Generators powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO)

All generators at the event are powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), which is a renewable diesel fuel produced from vegetable oils or animal fats, offering a lower-carbon alternative to traditional fossil fuels, and can be used as a drop-in replacement for diesel.
