Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside

The exciting Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside project includes a new opening bridge across the River Clyde from Renfrew to Yoker.

The project is set to regenerate the Clyde waterfront. It will connect communities and create the conditions for economic growth.

It is being delivered by Renfrewshire Council and is funded through the Glasgow City Region City Deal.

The project will help create jobs, generate vital work for local suppliers. It will also accelerate Renfrewshire’s recovery from the economic impact of Covid-19.

Construction will begin soon on a two-lane opening road bridge over the River Clyde. The bridge will span from Renfrew to the boundary between Glasgow and West Dunbartonshire.

There’s also a new road through Renfrew connecting the bridge to the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS).

Benefits of the project

Detailed economic analysis estimates 700 new and existing jobs will be needed to complete construction of the project.

The final business case shows a further 1,400 permanent jobs and 950 temporary construction roles could follow. These would be from the £230million in private sector investment attracted to both sides of the Clyde through improved access to development sites.

This improved connectivity will also be critically important in attracting more companies to choose AMIDS, Scotland’s home for manufacturing innovation.

The future of manufacturing
