Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside

The exciting Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside project includes a new opening bridge across the River Clyde from Renfrew to Yoker.

The project is set to regenerate the Clyde waterfront. It will connect communities and create the conditions for economic growth.

It is being delivered by Renfrewshire Council and funded through the Glasgow City Region City Deal.

A two-lane opening road bridge over the River Clyde will span from Renfrew to the boundary between Glasgow and West Dunbartonshire.

There’s also a new road connecting the bridge to the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS).

Benefits

Detailed economic analysis estimates 700 new and existing jobs will be needed to complete construction.

The final business case shows a further 1,400 permanent jobs and 950 temporary construction roles could follow. These would be from the £230million in private sector investment attracted to both sides of the Clyde through improved access to development sites.

This improved connectivity will also be critically important in attracting more companies to choose AMIDS, Scotland’s home for manufacturing innovation.

The future of manufacturing

It is hugely significant that the Clyde Waterfront project presents an opportunity we can seize upon now of much-needed jobs and opportunities for work and skills.
