Praised for their “immensely colourful, lyrical and expressive playing” (Laura Snowden) Quartet Malamatina is an international guitar quartet comprised of Tim Beattie (Canada), Finlay Hay (Scotland), Ross Morris (England), and Lenny Ranallo (USA). Formed while studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Quartet Malamatina has performed at the COP26 UN Climate Conference, St Giles’ Cathedral, Big Guitar Weekend Festival in Glasgow, and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Fridays at One concert series.
These projects have led them to work with some of the most exciting young filmmakers and composers in the UK, developing programmes that challenge conventions of genre classification and presentation. For their 2023 UK Tour, the Quartet has prepared a series of programmes combining contemporary music from their home nations and around the world.
