SAMA Paisley Takeover 2024 – Tijuana Bibles, Saint Sappho, Brsr

Friday 26 April, 2024

SAMA returns to Paisley this April with Mama Terra, Azamiah, Evelyn Laurie, Tijuana Bibles, brsr, Saint Sappho & more!

Tijuana Bibles

Uproarious, hellacious, all killer hooks and chaotic dissonance, with Tony Costello on vocals, his brother Danny on bass, James Brannigan on guitar and Mikey Dornan on drums – Tijuana Bibles debut album ‘Free Milk’ arrives in a disjointed nation, to a backdrop of war, protest, strikes and political confusion. That sense of purpose, danger and energy permeates every word and note on the record.

Featured as BBC Radio 1’s Next Wave artist, Tijuana Bibles ‘Free Milk’ charted in the official Top 40 and garnered critical acclaim by the likes of NME, Clash, Kerrang and Classic Rock magazine.

Modern Britain, in the current political climate stands at the abyss, and Tijuana Bibles are the soundtrack to it.

Brsr
‘BRSR are a four piece Alt/Post-Metal outfit from Glasgow & Paisley. Formed from the remains of three local groups (The Dunts, Sway, Animals To Creators), BRSR aim to push the sonic boundaries of alternative music and relay powerful emotion through intriguing lyricism, crushing rhythms and stunning melodies.

The group’s influences are wide and varied, which has led them to create something utterly unique. Reverberations of artists as such as Deftones, Hum and Slowdive can be heard throughout their distinct sound, without ever sounding like an imitation. A thundering rhythm section and explosive guitars provide the back drop for frontman David Roberts soaring vocals, making for what is an extremely potent combination.

Saint Sappho
Alternative rock duo based in Glasgow, fuelled by multi-instrumentalist Zoe and drummer Tammy – the nexus between both members creates a unique sonic result. The pair collaborate to establish sounds of 90’s rock embedded through the use of distorted guitars alongside melancholic vocals.
