As an introduction to hand weaving, professional weaver Gillian Lewis has created a series of easy to follow tutorials for children and adults which will show you how to make your own unique fabrics.
Watch her short films and, using simple and recycled materials, you can:
- learn how to make and prepare your own frame loom
- master a variety of weaves
- experiment with weaving fabrics and techniques
- remove your finished weave from the loom and finish it off
Each film is accompanied by an information sheet.
Suitable for ages 11+
This learning resource was originally developed in collaboration with Paisley Museum’s Creative Learning team to follow on from their Looms in Schools initiative.
